B. Robert amjad
The primary impetus behind Canterbury Capital, Bob brings a great deal of transactional and operational experience to Canterbury. His varied background provides a broad and deep wealth of insights and experiences from which he draws on as the leader of Canterbury Capital. His experiences include:
Approximately $1 billion in transaction value as an investment banking advisor to businesses pursuing partial or complete sales, acquisitions and acquisition programs as well as raising debt and equity capital for clients and projects. In total he has advised on over 20 advisory assignments and a similar number of direct investments, both across a variety of industries and at all stages of a company’s life cycle;
Re-developed approximately 2,000 acres of land, most of which was environmentally impacted;
Negotiated, structure and managed public-private partnerships for utility services, public bond financing, tax abatements and public grant funding;
Managed various business ventures on behalf of his partners both on a day to day and more strategic level
Bob's leads all transaction related activities from acquisitions to any major capital transaction. He is instrumental in setting growth and competitive strategy post acquisition. Day to day he manages Canterbury Capital’s business.
Bob is a graduate of the undergraduate program at St. Louis University. He has also earned and MBA and Juris Doctorate both from Case Western Reserve University. He was Managing Editor of the Law Review during law school. He de-activated his license to practice law many years ago to solely focus on the business aspects of his career.
Steven A. amjad
Steve Amjad is managing a e-retailer which sells parts for all terrain vehicles and automobiles located in Maryland. Following the completion of a law degree and MBA in Finance, Steve worked as a business transactions and litigation attorney for more than a decade before joining Canterbury Capital as an operating partner for several years before moving on to his current position. Steve’s professional experience includes managing transactions, litigation, helping with Canterbury’s initial stages in its development as a lawyer and through managing its operations at various levels.
David Kornbluth is the Founder and President of Channing Realty Advisors, a real estate investment platform designed to acquire income-producing, multi-tenant real estate assets that may provide investors with consistent, attractive returns. Before founding Channing, Mr. Kornbluth was Chief Investment Officer at RIK Enterprises. During his 5-year tenure at this family office, he managed a portfolio of diverse direct investments while strategically deploying significant private capital in a variety of asset classes. Mr. Kornbluth also held the position of CFO for six years at The Coral Company, where he led several acquisitions and corporate developments. Prior to this position, Mr. Kornbluth served as a Director for M&A, Capital Markets and Restructuring at Ernst & Young Corporate Finance, and as Vice President, Capital Markets at Associated Estates Realty Corporation. Throughout his career, Mr. Kornbluth has brought sophisticated expertise and solutions to a broad array of complex business situations. His transactional abilities are complimented by strong operational and corporate governance skills.
Thomas J. Kuluris
Tom Kuluris is the President and CEO of Liberty Development Company, a full-service real estate development and management company he founded in 1996. Liberty develops a wide range of retail, industrial, residential and office properties with a specialty in institutional grade projects and master land use projects. He is also the Managing Member of Liberty Capital Partners, a fund that owns commercial real estate properties through acquisition and development, and is a co-founder and partner of LDC Construction. In addition to Canterbury Capital, Tom is currently on the board of directors and the investment committee of the Cleveland State University Foundation, on the Lakewood Catholic Academy board of directors, and serves on the finance/ investment committee for the Sisters of Charity of Saint Augustine. Tom held past board positions with Julie Billiart School where he served on the executive committee and chaired the advancement committee, and was on the board of directors of the Premier Modular Building Company. He is a member of Bluecoats, Inc. and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Martin is currently chef/owner of Good Eats Group LLC. Martin has followed his entrepreneurial and hospitality roots incorporating his vast global experiences over 28 years from his time with Hilton Worldwide, Levy Restaurants, Starbucks Corporation, Starwood Hotels and various independent restaurant operations. A graduate of the distinguished culinary institution, Johnson and Wales University, Martin graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Associate of Occupational Science degree in Culinary Arts. He complimented his studies with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Foodservice Management. The University also recognized his exceptional culinary skill and leadership skills by appointing him as a Teaching Assistant in the Culinary Arts School. Additionally, Martin received an Associate of Science in Business Finance from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. Of particular note, Martin held the Banquet Chef position for the White House [1994 – 1995] serving his distinguished fare to Presidents Reagan, President Bush, President Clinton and dignitaries from around the world.
Blaik is a Managing Partner of Canterbury Capital and also serves as an Operating Partner for three of Canterbury’s holdings, splitting time between businesses in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Middletown, Ohio. Blaik has held a variety of executive positions both in the United States, as well as in Europe. He brings vast experience in sales, business development, operations and research and development. His international background includes manufacturing experience in the Far-East with multiple North American distribution channels.
Prior to joining Canterbury, Blaik worked for a variety of iconic brands including IMG and David Leadbetter Enterprises.
Blaik holds a BA from Drake University.
